POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Develop functional and operational requirements for Functional and Operational Requirements Documents as well as supporting documentation: program/task breakdowns, project/component breakdown, program package (site layouts, floor plans, pre-conceptual designs) for infrastructure, utility, and building projects.
- Plan and coordinate independent work requiring judgment, initiative, and experience in the application and adaptation of architectural techniques.
- Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, customer organizations, or projects.
- Expertise and guidance in architectural design, and the resolution of architectural technical, code, regulatory, and safety issues.
- Manage special tasks and provide leadership, training, and consultation to co-workers.
- Conduct construction document reviews as required.
- Assist in the preparation of task estimates; perform studies and prepare analysis as required.
- Interface with other design/construction disciplines, management and customers, as necessary.
- Familiarity with MicroStation computer aided drafting applications is required.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor of Architecture with a combined 10 years’ professional architectural experience in relevant design/field experience required.
- Registered Architect with current state registration. National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) preferred.
- Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to architectural design.
- Familiarity with MicroStation computer aided drafting applications is required.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous nuclear experience.
LOCATION
Position will be 100% onsite reporting to the North Las Vegas facility and may require periodic trips to the NNSS.
