What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Scientist position at Omegga?
Your mission
At Omegga we believe that we can make a difference in this world. Four years ago we started with the goal to use our skills, creativity & energy to prevent the yearly worldwide killing of 7 billion one day-old chicks.
We know how, we have a plan, are backed by our customers and the European Innovation Council and now we are searching for YOU to help us scale the vision that no chicks have to be gassed or shredded anymore (www.omegga.de).
As a Data Scientist at Omegga, you will be responsible for the core functionality of our early, non-invasive sexing technology. Your blend of knowledge in spectroscopy and data science will help advance our technology and broaden its applications. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend technical skills with compassionate innovation, ultimately shaping the future of ethical animal treatment.
What You'll Do
Accuracy Enhancement and Model Robustness: Focus on designing models to improve accuracy in chick classification and enhancing model robustness to adapt to data shifts across different chicken populations.
Model Optimization and Experimental Design: Perform hyperparameter optimization, track experiments, and structure new experiments using an expanding dataset to refine model performance and production readiness.
Research Implementation and Model Upkeep: Implement insights from academic research into practical applications, maintain and update models as the data landscape and product features evolve.
Team Collaboration and Technical Communication: Work collaboratively with the team to deploy the first model in a production environment, document processes, and present results that translate technical findings into actionable product improvements.
