Job Overview:
Omni Consulting Services LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative solutions for biopharma, biocontainment, cleanroom, and pharmaceutical projects. This role involves designing mobile and modular laboratories, utilizing mechanical engineering principles to create high-quality, compliant, and efficient solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and fabrication processes, working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs, 3D models, and detailed technical drawings to support fabrication and assembly.
- Apply engineering principles and industry standards (ASME, cGMP, ISO) to create compliant designs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including process, electrical, and automation engineers.
- Provide support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring designs meet quality, cost, and performance targets.
- Troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges, assisting production and service teams.
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and create internal design documentation and procedures.
- Assist in project planning to align with deadlines, milestones, and client expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in mechanical design within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidEdge, or similar CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with HVAC, structural assemblies, process piping, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with biopharma, biocontainment, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or repair.
- Knowledge of project planning, milestones, and deadlines.
