Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival
- Answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance verification procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
- Handle phone calls, responding to inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect co-payments and outstanding balances
- Coordinate with the dental team for patient care and treatment follow-ups
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism
- Support office management functions to ensure a well-organized front desk area.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
- Strong skills in insurance verification and patient service are essential.
- Proficient in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, dental management software)practices (ICD-10) is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and staff efficiently.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer service excellence is required.
