What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mohs/Histotechnician position at Omni Dermatology?
*This is a PRN/Short-Term position*
Dermatology office looking for qualifying candidate, for immediate hire, to perform Mohs Histological Technical Procedure for upcoming dates (within the next two weeks). The Candidate for this short-term position will be needed for 2-3 weeks.
Must be willing to work from 5 different office locations as the surgeon is at a different site every day of the week (Monday-Friday) and some Saturdays
Job Duties
- Recieved, documents and organizes incoming specimen
- Properly performs grossing techniques to ink and embed tissue ensuring complete representation of vital surgical margins and maintain proper orientation
- Perform Histological technical procedures using manual and automated techniques to achieve high quality Pathology slides for review by Pathologists.
- Prepare histological samples, map, flatten, paraffin embed samples, sectioning, staining (routine and non-routine), perform Immunohistochemistries, review samples, ensure quality standards and maintain all documentation.
- Comply with all OSHA (safety), CLEP, CLIA and CAP (lab certification and accreditation programs) and HIPAA (patient confidentiality) regulations in the performance of all aspects of the position.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information System applications for Histology/Cytology to perform job duties
