We are seeking a passionate Senior System Administrator to support our Space customer. As a Senior System Administrator, you will lead the management, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical systems in support of high-visibility programs. You will play a key role in ensuring system availability, performance, and security while enabling the delivery of critical capabilities. This role requires advanced technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting national security missions.
What you will do :
System Administration : Manage, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networked systems, ensuring they meet performance and security requirements.
Infrastructure Management : Oversee virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support scalable, resilient systems.
User Support : Provide Tier 3 technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring timely resolution to minimize operational impact.
Security Compliance : Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures, including system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.
Monitoring and Optimization : Monitor system performance using tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, or Nagios, and implement proactive measures to optimize uptime and reliability.
Backup and Recovery : Develop, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
Automation : Create and maintain scripts using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate administrative tasks and enhance system efficiency.
Documentation : Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, development, and security teams to ensure seamless system integration and operational support
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
Security Clearance : Active DoD Secret clearance required; Top Secret / SCI eligibility is preferred.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience :
10 years of experience in system administration roles, preferably supporting classified environments or defense-related programs.
Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu) administration.
Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, routing, and switching.
Experience with DevSecOps tools and methodologies, including CI / CD pipelines.
Advanced certification CompTIA Security required to work on gov owned systems

Proposed Pay Scale : $145,200-$167,400
