Construction Supervisor

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and organizing construction efforts for new builds, maintenance, and rebuild projects. This role involves supervising both in-house construction teams and contract labor, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality of work. The Construction Supervisor will also play a key role in the hiring, training, development, and performance management of team members, ensuring that all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, plan, and organize aerial construction efforts for new builds, maintenance, and storm restoration.
  • Coordinate with engineers and developers to design plant layouts, including drawing/sketching equipment installation locations and completing bills of materials (BOM).
  • Monitor daily construction progress and performance of in-house teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with agreements and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control of work performed by internal teams and contractors.
  • Review and submit daily production reports and reconcile submitted invoices to completed work.
  • Ensure that permitting and make-ready processes are followed before construction begins.
  • Provide regular updates to managers or designated delegates regarding construction progress.
  • Process and communicate damage claims as needed, updating all necessary parties.
  • Foster positive employee relations by maintaining open lines of communication and offering ongoing support.
  • Adhere to industry-specific regulations, local, state, and federal safety codes, and company policies.
  • If you are assigned a company vehicle, you will be responsible for stocking, cleaning, and reporting maintenance needs to Fleet Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in OSP construction. Preferably experience with both aerial and underground construction.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish.
  • Supervisory or foreman experience is required.
  • In-depth understanding of telecom infrastructure, specifically in OSP construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer use.
  • Ability to use hand tools (e.g., electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers) and climbing equipment (e.g., gaffs, safety harnesses, ladders).
  • Experience working with aerial machinery and equipment
  • Ability to work at heights, including climbing poles up to 32 feet and lifting up to 90 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge of HFC/FTTH construction and National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to driving and construction work.
  • Overtime is required and you must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays dependent on the job and the company's needs.
  • Able to perform night maintenance and emergency callouts.
  • Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record within company standards required.
  • Class A CDL is nice but not required.
