Job Description
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a versatile Prep Cook to join our culinary team, primarily focused on supporting our Salt & Gila pool bar and grill culinary team. This role may also assist in other kitchens around the property. The ideal candidate has a passion for culinary arts, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food according to restaurant standards, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
- Assist with prep work, including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, preparing proteins, and ensuring all ingredients are ready for service.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
- Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient workflow between the bar and restaurant.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, adhering to health department standards.
- Assist with any other culinary tasks as needed to support the overall kitchen operation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar culinary role.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- A positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Flexibility to work primarily mid-day shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
*This position is a part-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
