Job Description
The Purchasing & Receiving Clerk will be responsible for properly receiving, storing and issuing of all food and beverage, non-perishable and packages for the Omni Charlotte Hotel under the guidance of the Purchasing Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and unpack all merchandise received, and stock/store it.
- Assists Purchasing Supervisor in keeping the storeroom properly organized by sorting by group as stated by outlet.
- Receives Saturday packages/courier deliveries.
- Receive daily deliveries in Birchstreet.
- Log and track guest packages with delivery date and signature of recipient.
- Delivers all packages to all outlets on property.
- Strictly adheres to the operating hours of the storerooms.
- Checks requisitions for proper authorization and assists storeroom Supervisor in filling General Storeroom requisitions.
- Assists in the inspection of the refrigeration units and brings to attention any deviation from the set temperatures as well as any deterioration of the quality of the perishables (record temperature on a daily log).
- Responsible for the cleaning of all storerooms and coolers/walk in.
- To follow/adhere to Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations.
- Ability to operate hand truck, lift-jack and dolly.
- Start a list for out of stocks/goods and not received "items" so that follow-up can be made.
- Verify that no requisitions are left open (all requisitions should be completed and closed out).
- Assist in end-of-month inventories.
- Check and lock all coolers/storeroom doors before departure at end-of-day.
- The ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks/assignments and while working as a team player.
- Observe first in/first out (F.I.F.O.) rotation procedures when organizing storeroom shelves.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting. Lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance and 100 lbs with assistance
- Push/pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs without assistance

Qualifications
- Must be flexible and able to work am and pm shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to operate a hand truck and pallet jack.
- Should have basic computer and MS office operation understanding.
- On feet throughout shift
- Interior/exterior of hotel.
- Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
- Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic math is required.
- Excellent internal / external customer service skills
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate to heavy weight.
Working Environment:
- Interior of hotel and loading dock.
- Exposure to various weather conditions.
