Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing and Receiving Supervisor to oversee procurement operations in a high-volume hospitality or warehouse environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, staff supervision, and financial analysis to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing Department, including training, supervising, and disciplining staff.
- Review and process requisitions, ensuring orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by managing pars for all storeroom products, minimizing overstock and spoilage while preventing stockouts.
- Conduct monthly inventory audits using computerized systems, ensuring accuracy and logical organization of inventory sheets with updated costs.
- Implement and utilize electronic inventory collection devices where available.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms and high-quality products.
- Ensure compliance with hospitality purchasing standards and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to meet operational and financial goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing/receiving experience in a hotel or high-volume warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of Purchase Orders data and the ability to work with invoices and receiving.
- Hospitality purchasing experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and computer-generated inventory tools.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with food and beverage purchasing in a hospitality setting.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate to heavy weight.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
