Job Description:
A Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around the facility.
Maintenance Technician key responsible will be:
- Assembles, installs, and repairs equipment per instructions or provided schematics.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot equipment to provide required performance.
- Dismantles devices, examines, and adjusts parts, and repairs or replaces defective parts, lubricates, and cleans parts.
- Responsible for good working condition of all equipment, mitigating unscheduled downtime.
- Ability to train operators in safe and efficient utilization of all equipment.
- Provide preventive maintenance on all equipment and make recommendations.
- Proper documentation of all work required i.e., service reports, expense exports, installation feedback forms, etc.
- Keep forms updated to meet safety standards and TPM program.
Maintenance Technicians skills and qualifications.
A successful candidate will have the following prerequisite skills and expertise:
- High School degree or Trade School degree
- Experience in Electrical experience.
- Experience in Mechanical knowledge maintenance tech will be considered.
- Shared experience in the print industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of printing presses, folders, trimmers, stackers and related auxiliary equipment at the assembly level.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read basic electrical/mechanical and pneumatic diagrams.
- Capable of using multi-meter and micrometers
- Average computer skills and typing
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Positive interaction with others.
- Ability to work in a high stress manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage interpersonal conflicts.
- Coverage during certain periods throughout the fiscal year
- Frequent exposure to shop environment may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or on the production floor.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
