Job Description:
A Quality Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards in the production process. The primary responsibility of a Quality Technician will be to investigate and resolve quality issues within the operation, create process improvement and best practice procedures and communicate these to operators and support personnel, to ensure the highest quality product is produced.
Quality Technician key responsible will be:
- Assist operators with problem solving techniques and application of improved operating practices.
- Train all employees in process improvement methods.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise in color management and process control.
- Use Microsoft Office programs to create corrective action reports, process flowcharts, and data tracking.
- Assist in developing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) procedures in compliance with ISO 9001.
- Perform internal and external quality audits. Provide support for customer audits.
- Communicate with designated customer contacts regarding quality issues to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Complete first article, PPAP, and similar inspection documentation to submit for customer approval
Quality Technicians skills and qualifications.
A successful candidate will have the following prerequisite skills and expertise:
- Technical background which could include a degree from a technical school or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, an ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization, and with suppliers and customers.
- Intermediate Excel skills or other analysis tools. This position requires the incumbent to use color vision, hearing, sitting for prolonged periods, speaking and articulating, and lifting less than 25 pounds on a constant basis, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
