Tower Technician

Tower Hand – Full-Time Position

We are looking for several talented individuals seeking a career in the Telecommunications industry. Pay will be based on experience, and industry knowledge, and decided at the time of the interviewing process.

Job Duties

• Able to work with minimal supervision (Self-Motivated)
• Able to read, understand and construct based on the customer detail plan including blue print drawings
• Must have a labor-intensive attitude
• Provide superior customer service while ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner
• Adhere to all company and industry standard/regulations (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.)
• Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunications, commercial, residential, and light industrial applications
• Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to field work
• Review peer work product

Job Requirements

• 2 years of Tower Climbing required; rigging experience highly preferred
• Experience working on multiple carriers - AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, etc.
• High school diploma or GED; Electrical (AC/DC) and/or mechanical experience preferred
• Current CommTrain or equivalent certification required
• Competent Rigger, RF Awareness, OSHA 10, First-Aid/CPR, Hazardous Communication, and Blood Borne Pathogens certification preferred
• Must be proficient in running CAT 5, CAT 6 & Fiber Optics Data Cable
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results oriented
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be drug-free
• Must have smart phone with hotspot accessibility
• Experience with Cellular Networks and equipment preferred
• The ability to terminate cable is a plus
• The ability to run conduit is a plus
• Strong written, verbal, and team-oriented communication skills
• Ability to pull trailers, and drive with a load, is a plus

• Ability to lead crews if foreman is unavailable
• Update equipment office records and installation specification to document accurate 'as built'
• Ability to work on ladders and demonstrated manual dexterity
• Ability to lift and/or carry loads of up to 40 lbs.
• Must be adaptable to changing environments
• Must be willing to travel
