Job Title: Wound Care Medical Doctor (MD)
A highly experienced leader in delivering advanced wound care and gastrostomy tube management, requiring extensive travel within an assigned region. This field-based role involves providing direct care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring other providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care & Oversight:
- Manage acute and chronic wounds, perform procedures (e.g., debridement, NPWT, gastrostomy tube maintenance).
- Guide treatment plans and provide feedback to NPs and PAs.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor clinical teams, collaborating with multidisciplinary providers.
- Promote professional development and training.
- Patient Advocacy & Education:
- Develop personalized care plans and educate patients and staff on wound care and recovery strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with patients and caregivers.
- Communication & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate EHR documentation and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Innovation & Quality Improvement:
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement AI and strategies to improve care and outcomes.
- Regional Travel & Adaptability:
- Travel to multiple care sites (50–70 miles daily) and adapt to diverse clinical settings.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow infection control protocols, respond to urgent situations, and report incidents as required.
Position Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Washington State.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty, with surgery as the preferred option, followed by OB/GYN, internal medicine, and family medicine.
- Certification or prior experience in wound care (e.g., CWSP, CWS) is required to effectively mentor and guide other providers.
- DEA registration preferred for future capability to prescribe controlled substances, though not currently required.
