Position Overview
The Market Development Sales candidate will work on a regional team with the Sales Director and Business Development Manager, managing assigned accounts in the region. Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails. Understanding customer needs and requirements. Routing qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure. The successful candidate will have some experience in sales, an understanding of the dietary supplement industry or related science would be a plus.
Key Accountabilities
- Close sales and achieve sales targets
- Contribute to meeting the assigned region overall sales goal
- Meet sales target for assigned accounts
- Manage and grow assigned accounts
- Follow through on Leads and convert them into opportunities
- Communicate with customers, make outbound calls to potential customers, and follow up on leads
- Ensure generation of sales through regular customer contacts and various marketing & promotional initiatives
- Ensure prompt responsiveness on sales inquiries in order to maximize sales conversions
- Deepen relationships with existing accounts to ensure market penetration
- Keep up with product and service information and updates
- Create and maintain a database of current and potential customers
- Develop an understanding of Omni’s product portfolio
- Stay informed about competing products and services
- Research and qualify new leads
- Maintain an up-to-date opportunity pipeline in CRM
- Accurate Forecasting for the region in partnership with the Sales Director and Business Development Manager
Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Added qualification in science will be preferred
- 2-3 years of applicable experience
- Customer Focus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
- Understanding of the nutritional supplement industry
- Excellent Communication & Presentation skills
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Travel to visit assigned customers and for joint visits with team members will be required
Physical & Environmental Job Demands
- Overall, this position is sedentary
- This job may require repetitive typing/mouse usage
- Overnight travel will be required
