What You’ll Do:


The Distribution Center (DC) Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, preventive maintenance, and unscheduled repairs of all production and building related equipment throughout the facility. This hands-on role involves performing production equipment repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting equipment and facility issues to minimize downtime and support efficient operations. This support role will report into the DC Managers and Production Supervisors.


Primary Responsibilities:


Equipment Maintenance and Repair
:


  • Respond to maintenance requests and perform troubleshooting on a variety of industrial equipment used in the DC including:

o Wire cutting and respooling equipment.

o Material handling equipment such as forklifts and order pickers.

  • Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and to diagnose problems accurately.
  • Conduct necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacement of faulty components to restore equipment functionality promptly. This may involve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic repairs.
  • Collaborate with external contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized repairs, inspections, and unplanned maintenance tasks.


General Facility Maintenance
:


  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facility systems such as dock levelers, overhead doors, HVAC systems, gates, fences, racking systems, etc.
  • Responsible for the overall upkeep of the facility and grounds. Perform basic carpentry, painting, and building repairs tasks.


Preventive Maintenance
:


  • Implement and execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and facility systems to minimize breakdowns and ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Follow maintenance schedules, checklists, and procedures to perform inspections, lubrication, calibration, cleanings, and adjustments.
  • Coordinate with corporate operations in scheduling required inspections, vendor managed PM agreements, other external facility service agreements.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, inspection reports, and equipment service history using Facility Management software systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance and repairs of equipment and facility systems.
  • Manage inventory levels, track usage, and reorder items as needed.


Safety Training and Compliance:


  • Ensure that all facility life safety systems and production equipment meet safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to identify potential hazards and take appropriate actions to address them.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety inspections and document them using EHS Management Software.
  • Follow all safety requirements when performing repair work, including LOTO and wearing necessary PPE.
  • Provide guidance and training to warehouse Team on equipment operation when needed.

Required Skills and Experience


Work Experience

What You’ll Need



  • Experience in maintaining and repairing warehouse and industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Previous experience working within a Facility Management software system.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to equipment maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergency repair situations.
  • Ability to travel on occasion to other facilities to assist in equipment or facilities maintenance needs.
