Role Description
We seek an experienced Billing Specialist. If you take ownership over your work and do what it takes to get the job done, you'll feel at home with our excellent revenue cycle staff and you'll appreciate the supportive and attentive management. Only candidates with at least two years of medical practice billing experience will be considered for the job. Reports to the Billing Supervisor.
This position starts has a 90 day introductory period training and working as front desk patient care coordinator, to familiarize with the company's work, then transitions into the billing section.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- preparing and submitting claims
- troubleshooting billing problems to determine the root cause and to prevent future problems
- working open and rejected claims to successful payment
- reading, understanding, and working ERAs, including posting claims
- maintaining a thorough understanding of OmniSleep and insurance company billing policies and rules
- collecting on patient accounts
- performing other duties as assigned
- working scheduled hours of 8:30am to 5pm (half hour lunch) Monday - Friday
Pay and Benefits
Pay is competitive; actual pay level is dependent on experience, skill sets, and expected dependability and ability to handle workload, based on references.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 2 years experience with medical billing; 5 years preferred
- Experience troubleshooting billing problems with health insurance plans
- Proficiency with electronic claims billing software and electronic medical records
- Ability and initiative to work independently and proactively
- Takes ownership over work to maintain high levels of accuracy and quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Mac operating system and Microsoft Office applications
- Detail Oriented
- Self motivated
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent phone skills
