Job Duties:
- Work in the domain of silicon validation within the semiconductor industry, specializing in VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) design.
- Develop CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) image sensors which are the integral components in the variety of applications, including consumer electronics, automotive, security systems, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).
- Conduct silicon validation and performance testing to ensure CMOS image sensors meet design specifications and performance standards. Assess the electrical performance of sensors using tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.
- Analyze and characterize sensor metrics such as noise levels, sensitivity, dynamic range, and color fidelity to ensure optimal performance in end-user applications. Develop mathematical models and implement advanced image processing using MATLAB. Perform data analysis and image processing for sensor testing with Python.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic components, along with a strong command of both hardware and software systems, including relevant programming skills, to improve sensor functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and firmware, to address performance issues and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Develop Python-based automation for CMOS image sensor testing, including noise, dynamic range measurements, and additional performance metrics. Design scripts to interface with test equipment, collect and analyze data, visualize results, and generate comprehensive reports. Utilize GitLab for version control, collaboration, and efficient management of code repositories, ensuring seamless updates and team integration.
Job Requirements:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields and two (2) years of experience in wireless sensing applications.
Must possess the skills/experience in:
- Research and development with sensor systems.
- Developing scientific approaches for characterizing sensor products.
- Circuits design, semiconductor physics, and semiconductor processing techniques.
- Signal processing and data processing using matlab and python.
- Code management tools such as gitlab.
- Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter.
- Reading schematics and data sheets.

Annual base salary for this role in California, US is expected to be between $110,000 - $130,000. Actual pay will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant skills and experience, and the pay of employees in the similar role.
