OMT-Veyhl is looking for a Powder Coat Engineering Technician - 1st Shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, is mechanically inclined, and a drive to deliver the highest quality and on-time delivery of products to our customers.
POSITION SUMMARY: Operates, trouble shoot, programs, and coordinates maintenance for the powder coat line under the guidance of the Powder Coat Engineer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program application equipment.
- Operation of Nordson COD system.
- Coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks related to both powder coat lines.
- Perform daily quality checks and preventative maintenance on equipment; nozzles, scrap, booths, paint room
- Keep titration levels at acceptable level for both powder coat lines.
- Assist with changing out racks for powder lines.
- Assist with preparing racks/hooks/assembly components for burn-off.
- Repair racks and wash system risers.
- Stocks powder for both paint rooms.
- Paints metal components as needed.
- Maintain inventory on paint line materials and equipment.
- Train employees on both powder coat lines.
- Coordinate and maintains powder coat lines for tour ready 24/7.
- Provide daily process support to paint line engineer and supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be proficient in operation and set-up of powder coat equipment.
- Experience in operation and setup of handguns, hoppers, wash lines, and paint booths.
- Must be able to perform paint line quality checks: including wash titrations and gloss and millage readings.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to teach/train employees the necessary skills and processes in setup and operation of paint equipment.
- Must be team player.
- Ability to read prints.
- Basic mechanical ability to understand automated equipment how to diagnose issues and problem solve.
- Ability to use tape measure and calipers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma.
- Paint line experience.
- Leadership experience.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co-workers.
- The employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position.
- The employee may occasionally be required to traverse within the facility.
- The employee will constantly operate equipment and handle material that requires dexterity, grip, and detection of minute details in materials, tools and/or equipment.
- The employee may be required to ascend/descend and position themselves around equipment, tools, and fixturing.
- The employee must frequently move, lift, and/or transport components, tools, and equipment ranging from 10 – 60 pounds.
- Specific abilities required by this job include the ability to perceive items up close, observe items in the distance, distinguish between colors, and the ability to adjust focus.
