What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at Omya Inc?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Collaborate with the maintenance manager to satisfy internal and external customers, while optimizing the technical and human resource needs of the area. Develop and maintain the support of the Safety, Environment, and
Quality (Sustainability) policy throughout the area and plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical resource for plant maintenance team.
- Support and lead the maintenance team in maintaining a safe environment.
- Schedule activities and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to maintain product quality and quantity, equipment availability, and equipment reliability.
- Maintain a training schedule to ensure maintenance employees maintain the applicable certifications and training.
- Regularly communicate both in writing and verbally on specific projects and needs of the area.
- Maintain open communication between areas to ensure safety, environmental quality, and product quality to meet internal and external customer’s specifications.
- Provide information to maintenance employees on performance, training, and development of area personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science-related field preferred and at least 5-10 years of experience in an industrial-related environment and prior work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and understanding of both mechanical and electrical
maintenance. Strong leadership, supervisory, project management, communication, organizational and administrative skills.
Competent with computer programs (Excel/Word), high level of mechanical aptitude, and strong mathematical ability.
Must possess current US employment authorization; sponsorship not available for this position.
