Responsible for the production operations (Safety, Quality and Production on shift) ensuring supervision of subordinate employees and optimization of personnel deployment. Key Accountabilities Function Management Responsible for supervising day-to-day shift production operations. Ensure preventive maintenance in the field of operations by scheduling and coordinating maintenance with the maintenance foremen. Issue production orders for both plants. Responsible for the development of proposals to improve facilities and increase plant production. Responsible for safety and quality checks by engaging team to assess and complete in a timely manner. Jointly responsible for the correct execution of the expected production including obtaining coverage as needed. Contribute to the training of subordinates. Check and ensure the availability of the tools, measuring and testing equipment in use. Regularly communicate interdepartmentally, in written and / or verbal form, on the status of safety or mechanical repairs as needed – including follow up and completion. Act as a resource to other personnel and plant maintenance and actively engage in field issues. Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Responsible for the training, implementation, application and compliance with safety and fire safety measures during shift for all subordinates. Inspect work areas on a continuous basis for possible unusual conditions. Report deficiencies to the Department Managers. Proper handling of environmentally hazardous substances. Perform work duties in accordance with Omya Quality Systems Manual procedures. People Management Supervise and control subordinate personnel. Joint responsibility for the safety of subordinate employees ensuring compliance with the relevant working conditions and working time regulations. Monitor employee job performance such as attendance, quality, and productivity. Joint responsibility for education and training of the subordinate employees in organization’s operating procedures and standards. Must be able to utilize PayCor – Workday – and Omya learning academy efficiently – Confidentiality is a priority in all people management issues. Solid line(s) to Jacqueline Menini Number of direct reports 5-6 depending Performance Measures KPIs agreed in yearly MbO. Other requirements Good command of both oral and written local language and English are required. Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial. Education Leadership training, OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR certified – If not current willing to obtain Experience 1-2 years experience managing people in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge and skills Demonstrated leadership and operational management skills. Thorough knowledge of the procedures for relevant machinery and equipment
