Job Title: Contract Attorney – S.A. Cases (Depositions & Settlement Negotiations)

Overview:
We are seeking 10–12 experienced Contract Attorneys to assist with depositions and settlement interviews in a high-volume, sensitive caseload involving sexual assault claims. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on meaningful cases under New York's Child Victims Act (CVA) and Adult Survivors Act (ASA). These cases require professional, compassionate, and skilled legal practitioners to help move cases forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct plaintiff interviews with care, empathy, and professionalism
- Take depositions, with a focus on trauma-informed advocacy
- Work closely with team members to position cases for efficient resolution without the need for extended litigation in some cases
- Participate in strategic planning of settlements and case posture
- Support trial readiness
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law in New York (required)
- 2–3 years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on tort litigation, personal injury, or sexual assault matters
- Demonstrated experience conducting depositions and settlement negotiations
- Sophistication and emotional intelligence to handle sensitive subject matter
- Ability to navigate a learning curve with evolving strategy in a complex legal landscape
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with survivors respectfully and effectively
- Willingness to work fully on-site as part of a collaborative team
Compensation:
- <1 year post-bar: $40/hour
- 1–3 years post-bar: $52/hour
- 3–7 years post-bar: $56/hour
- 7 years post-bar: $58/hour
