Job Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Administrative assistant is responsible for managing the administrative and clerical tasks
required by the practice. This position requires an individual with excellent communication
skills, a warm caring attitude, and the ability to work independently as well as be able to multi-
task while displaying a calm professional attitude representing On Call Wound Care LLC.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Answering phone calls, creating appointments, directing the calls as required, and handling all
queries
Providing accurate and professional telephone support for incoming calls from patients, home
health agencies, medical offices, and vendors.
Informing the Nurse Practitioners about patient schedules including making routes with the
software application
Maintaining an electronic filing system for all patient documents and reports submitted by
entering them into the EMR
Answering Emails And Other Electronic Messages As Required
Managing supplies inventory and placing orders as required
Entering demographics and clinical information for all new patients prior to nurse practitioner’s evaluations.
Verifying new patient’s insurances prior to scheduling appointments.
Minor Duties And Responsibilities
Prepare routes for the nurse practitioner based on given addresses (usually 8-10 per day)
Open correspondence and electronically deposit checks that come from insurance companies
Write and send thank you cards to referring providers and home health agencies
Order and maintain inventory of wound care supplies
Make copies of documents
Responsible to ensure patient information and demographics are entered quickly and correctly.
Responsibilities will include various office administrative tasks such as document scanning,
copying, sending faxes, spreadsheet entry, making reminder calls, answering busy multi-line
phone systems, and managing clinic scheduling. Including other duties as required as the
practice grows.
