On Demand Counseling provides comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment, supporting clients in Northeast Ohio through a wide range of services, from individual counseling to group programs. We are dedicated to removing barriers to treatment and offering compassionate, effective care to individuals and families in need.

Position Summary:

The Counselor plays a key role in supporting clients through assessments, case management, counseling, crisis intervention, and group therapy. This position offers flexible scheduling with the option to work four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts weekly. As a Counselor, you will work directly with clients, families, and community partners to facilitate continuity of care and positive treatment outcomes.

As part of our team, you will advocate for clients, work collaboratively with professionals, and apply your clinical skills to make a real impact on each client’s journey in mental health and addiction recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Counseling & Case Management: Provide individual and family counseling sessions, conduct assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans that align with the client’s needs and recovery goals.
• Crisis Intervention: Manage crisis situations effectively, using de-escalation techniques and professional standards to support clients.
• Referral Coordination: Refer clients to appropriate mental health resources or higher levels of care as needed, facilitating connections with community services.
• Group Facilitation: Conduct group sessions based on professional standards, fostering an environment of support and engagement.
• Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients with various stakeholders, including courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services to coordinate care and monitor progress.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain precise and up-to-date client records, including assessments, case notes, and treatment summaries, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with program standards.

Additional Duties:

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of programs and client services.
• Other tasks as assigned to support program objectives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience in mental health, addiction counseling, or case management.
• Skills:
  • Knowledge of substance use assessment and case management.
  • Competency in group facilitation and therapeutic engagement.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.

Licensing Requirements:

Candidates must hold at least one of the following active licenses:

• LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, LPCC-S

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Capability to work in a facility with multiple levels without mechanical transportation.
