On Demand is seeking a Medical Assistant for New Day Recovery; Niles

Responsibilities:
- Check-in patients by collecting all information including insurance, payments or workers compensation injury information.
- Actively communicate with patients and families
- Assists in patient / family education within their own capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Perform urinalysis, vaccines, injections and venipuncture.
- Provides direct care (i.e.-vital signs, wound care, EKGs, etc.) or other care to patients.
- Documentation of care will be completed in a precise, accurate manner abiding by established guidelines for charting.
- Follows safety policies and procedures in the delivery of care to assure a safe environment for patients, families and other staff members.
- Must be able to complete a thorough triage including update meds information, family history, etc.
- Completes all assignments during scheduled working hours.
- Must possess general computer knowledge and general office equipment familiarity.
- Other duties such as scanning into EMR, faxing, records & referrals as needed. Checking triages daily from NP.
Technical Expertise:
- Primary care or medical type of setting experience.
- Knowledge of patient care.
- General office duties within the medical field.
- Knowledge of and experience in medical terminology is required.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
- Experience working in electronic medical record (ex. Medent) or similar software is preferred.
Education And Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred although not required.
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred although not required.
- Years of relevant experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None
