About On Golden Rescue
Located on 105 acres, On Golden Rescue (OGR) is an accredited non-profit large animal sanctuary committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of horses, donkeys, mules and goats. OGR offers permanent sanctuary and care to otherwise unwanted, abused, or neglected animals and provides them with a safe haven where they will never again experience the situations that led them to OGR in the first place. These animals are generally older, with medical conditions and in some cases, traumatized. These amazing animals remain as permanent sanctuary residents and live out the natural span of their lives in a safe and nurturing environment. Our motto is “No More Bad Days.”
OGR strives to inform the public of our mission in a manner that will garnish their support. We solicit donations and grants from individuals and organizations. Donations collected are used for sheltering, feeding and caring, and otherwise maintaining the animals. OGR has been featured on Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) and channel 8 KGW as well as in the Astorian, the Voice and Ruralite magazine. These platforms have helped us raise awareness of issues affecting farm animals and encourage long-term sponsorship for their care.
