Key Responsibilities :

Develop and implement advanced process control (APC) strategies to optimize refinery operations.

  • Configure, program, and maintain Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization :

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions for process improvements.
  • Project Management :
  • Lead or participate in control system upgrade projects, including planning, execution, and commissioning.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Safety and Compliance :
  • Ensure that all control systems meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and safety audits.
  • Troubleshooting and Support :
  • Provide technical support for control system troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Train operations and maintenance staff on control system functionalities and best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting :
  • Maintain detailed documentation for control systems, including system architecture, logic diagrams, and operational manuals.

  • Prepare reports on system performance and project progress.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience in process control engineering within a refinery or petrochemical environment.
  • Proficiency with DCS, PLC, and APC systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, or Siemens).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISA, API) and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a plant environment and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with advanced process modeling and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or data analytics applications in process control.
