Job Summary:
The Finance Director will oversee and manage all financial activities, including supervision of Accounting Department personnel. This role involves grant management, financial reporting, handling payroll and benefits, insurance renewals, asset management, and coordination of annual audits. The Finance Director will ensure an adequate control environment that will reduce and mitigate risk for undetected errors or misappropriation of assets, and will play a key role in collaborating with management and those charged with governance in executing the 2025 Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Management
· Supervise Accounting Department Personnel (including an Accountant and Bookkeeper)
2. Payroll and Benefits Management
· Reviewing time cards
· Establish payroll deductions for medical, dental, vision, AFLAC, United Way
· Manage participation and deductions related to 403B plan
· Manage salary changes
· Develop, document, and oversee payroll allocation schedules for grant claim and reporting purposes
· Record and reconcile all payroll activity in QuickBooks, including payroll accruals and allocations
· Collaborate with the Office Manager as necessary
3. Insurance and Workers Compensation
· Handle all insurance renewals and workers compensation coverage offerings
· Attend annual broker meetings
· Manage adjustments to premiums and rates and deduction elections as applicable
· Summarize and present information to employees
4. General Accounting Support and Oversight
· Prepare the annual budget for approval
· Review and approve bank deposits
· Review and approve bank reconciliations
5. Monthly Financial Reporting
· Prepare and provide a monthly financial reporting package to management and governance on a timely basis that will include:
o Profit and Loss Statements
o Actual to Budget and Previous Year comparison
o Balance Sheet
o Statement of Cash Flows
o Detailed Accounts Receivable Aging Summary and Schedule of Deferred
o Financial narrative report highlighting information in the detailed financial statements
6. Grants Management
· Prepare budgets for grants
· Maintain a profit and loss by grant award
· Accumulating necessary information for claims and prepare both quantitative and qualitative data for grant reporting
· Report final budgets
7. Fixed Asset Management
· Maintain Fixed Asset Register, including additions, deletions, and depreciation
· Oversee the accounting entries and management of supplies and laptop inventory
8. Audit Coordination
· Coordinate and supervise the annual fiscal year F/S Audit
· Oversee the preparation of Federal Form 990 and NYS CHAR 500
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA preferred
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, including supervisory experience
· Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
· Strong knowledge of payroll systems and benefits administration
· Experience with grants management and reporting
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
