What are the responsibilities and job description for the Videographer for 7-Weekend Gig position at On Point National Dance Competition?
On Point National Dance Competition is a New Jersey based company that produces amateur dance competitions for youth ages 4-18 across the country. Our company is currently assembling a team of talented, hard-working individuals to help us produce our live events and we would love for you to be part of our dynamic team! Selected team members will demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to administer every detail of his or her duties so precisely and smoothly that everyone in attendance is only aware of the fun they are having!!
The Videographer is responsible for preserving lasting memories for On Point competitors. Applicants must be proficient operating a video camera, specifically adjusting camera settings in order to capture crisp footage in low-light conditions. This team member should be very detail oriented as he/she will manage the collection of video files. The ability to troubleshoot equipment and technological issues calmly and confidently is imperative. Past dance convention/competition experience is very beneficial.
This position requires proficiency using PC laptops and attention to detail to ensure files are recorded and saved correctly. The position will also include a variety of other duties including setting up/breaking down each event.
The Videographer must be at least 18 years of age and based in/near Cleveland, OH, with the ability to travel from February through May. Work weekends may include a Thursday departure and a Monday return. The Videographer will have a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation to On Point’s Cleveland meet point.
Main Job Descriptions/Expectations:
- MUST have video camera experience – videographer will use On Point’s equipment
- MUST have PC and MAC computer experience – videographer will use On Point’s computers to store/categorize images
- Reliability and attention to detail is a MUST! – we cannot miss or “lose” routine videos
- Positive personality

- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work long hours in high-stress theatrical production environments
- Located within a reasonable driving distance of Cleveland, OH
- May be responsible for driving company van, paid for by On Point
- Physically able to lift/lower for load-in/load-out of truck and for set-up/break-down at each event
- Past dance convention/competition experience is a HUGE PLUS!
This position is a part-time, seasonal, 1099 contract job. Please do not apply unless you are available all of the following weekends – including Thursdays and Mondays:

Weekly compensation is tiered based on length of each event. Event transportation, hotel accommodations and on-site meals also provided.
