What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Engagement Coordinator position at On River Time?
The Marketing and Engagement Coordinator will work to share the mission of On River Time and increase brand awareness while working to secure new partnerships and funding. This role will work alongside the Executive Director and Support Services Director to manage social media channels, cultivate publicity opportunities, as well as identify new contacts and partners to advance the organization’s initiatives. The Marketing and Engagement Coordinator will also play an important role in programming - working closely with the children we serve - as well as event planning throughout the year to engage the community. This position also includes overseeing the merchandising and sales of the On River Time store. This is a full-time role based out of our Birmingham, AL office with remote capabilities.
On River Time works to empower children of abuse and neglect through life affirming programming, including our fly fishing camps in Idaho, as well as mentoring and scholarships. We partner closely with children living in group children’s homes, and aim to help them see a world beyond their circumstances and that their past does not define their future.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage overall digital marketing strategy including creating social media content and using analytics to assess success of campaigns and grow authentic followers
- Pursue publicity opportunities to share the mission of On River Time
- Participate in creating programming opportunities for the children we serve
- Manage outreach to the children, including birthday cards, etc.
- Develop resources for existing and former campers
- Identify, cultivate and secure funding partnerships
- Meet with potential supporters to share about On River Time and secure new partnerships
- Work with the team to establish quarterly and yearly goals and execute a plan to achieve
- Plan and organize meetings with new contacts to share our mission and gain financial support
- Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals
- Participate in prepping and working multiple events throughout the year
- Oversee merchandising and sales of On River Time store
- Other administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements and skills:
Bachelor’s degree
Background in nonprofit work or fundraising preferred
Experience developing a digital marketing strategy, social media content, and professional web presence.
Excellent communication and writing skills
Organized and attention to detail
Friendly, compassionate, and driven
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently or in a group setting with remote capabilitie
