What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at On The Mend Home Renovations?
Responsible for following the training and instruction provided by the Lead Carpenters. This role requires a strong desire to perform hands on work, often in an outdoor environment. This collaborative role helps us achieve our goals of making our client’s dream projects a reality through providing superior craftsmanship. The Carpenter’s will be challenged to grow and develop their skills to become a Carpenter.
Essential Functions
· Maintaining records, documenting tasks, and presenting progress reports in Buildertrend.
· Following established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
· Working independently or as part of a crew and implementing the company’s building practices.
· Loading and unloading of trucks safely.
· Maintaining an inventory of tools and equipment.
· Being trained, instructed, and guided by the Lead Carpenters.
· Verifying the stability structure (using plumb bob and level).
· Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil chalk, and marking gauge.
· Understanding and implementing blueprints and carpentry skills for framing, finish work, and remodeling.

· Demonstrating and ability to layout and quickly build stairs and advanced frame and roof layouts.
· Showing enthusiasm and a willingness to learn excellent leadership and installation techniques.
· Active participation in morning huddles.
Qualification Standards
· Must be punctual, respectful, and hold oneself to the highest of performance standards.
· Ability to work collaboratively and follow instruction with varying degrees of supervision, up to & including working on certain jobs alone.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· High school degree or equivalent.
· Ability to pass all background checks.
· Must maintain the highest levels of integrity and refuse to cut corners.
· Goal oriented with a competitive spirit yet can remain authentic & humble.
· Always embodies a polite and professional appearance/attitude.
· Must be highly coachable and willing to make a commitment to continual self-improvement.
· 3 years or more experience in deck building, siding, remodeling, and/or window & door installations.
