The CCTV/Sewer Camera Operator role involves operating specialized equipment for inspecting sewer lines, stormwater lines, catch basins, and related structures. The operator must ensure work is done according to local, state, and commercial regulations, utilizing maps or GIS data, and documenting the process for client review. This position requires a hands-on individual with strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate CCTV truck units and inspection equipment.
- Inspect sewer lines following NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP guidelines.
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on CCTV equipment.
- Collaborate with clients to obtain necessary work documents (maps, files).
- Lead crew members and ensure work quality, safety, and completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and operating procedures.
- Submit detailed reports, including daily logs, job-specific data, and equipment usage.
- Maintain the control room and manage data security.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 2 years of CCTV/Sewer Camera operation preferred (training provided for technical candidates).
- Knowledge of sewer system practices, CCTV equipment, and map interpretation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate computers and software for reporting.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and partners.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License, PACP/MACP/LACP certification preferred, DOT Medical Card (or pass DOT physical), OSHA 10, CPR, Confined Space Entry, Traffic Control/Flagger Certification (must be obtained within one month of employment).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50-125 pounds and work outdoors in adverse weather.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, walk in rugged areas, and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and kneeling.
- Good vision and ability to handle various environmental conditions, including exposure to moving parts and airborne particles.
Work Environment:
- Primarily outdoor work with low to moderate noise levels.
- Exposure to mechanical parts and environmental elements such as fumes and vibrations.
