What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Utility Locator Regional Supervisor position at On the Spot Utility Resources?
The Underground Utility Locator Regional Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the underground utility locator responds and accurately marks locating tickets in timely manner. The underground utility locator regional supervisor is also responsible for training and auditing the underground utility locator so the customer can safely dig without damaging underground utility infrastructure.
Our Underground Utility Locators and Supervisors are free to operate Independently and work outdoors. The position provides a work truck with personal use option. Essential Goals, Functions and Responsibilities:
· Monitor locator productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching when necessary
· Organize locator areas to optimize locator and route efficiency
· Set performance standards and targets in accordance with OTS’s business strategy
· Communicate with entire team on workload, projects, and rescheduling needs
· Assist Lead Locators with providing coaching and feedback to their locators
· Receive questions and concerns from internal and external customers and find resolutions for those concerns
· Maintain time records for each locator
· Manage locator time off request to ensure production is still able to be met
· Assist the Human Resource Department in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new employees
· Assist Compliance and Development Specialist with training new employees
· Complete internal audits
· Complete vehicle inspections
· Follow up on the completion of Retraining Documents from Leads on Locator performance
· Create On-Call Rotation Schedule and send to operations manager.
· Troubleshoot and assist with any abnormal operating conditions faced by locators
· Assist in investigations in which underground facility may have been compromised or damaged
· Ensure locators have been provided with all tools and supplies required to perform tasks effectively.
· Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment used
· Inventory Management
· Able to travel to monthly meetings as needed
Acquires and retains knowledge in applicable regulatory requirements including Minnesota 811 Dig Laws and state requirements.
