Job Summary:
We are looking for a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to provide remote counseling services to individuals facing substance use challenges. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing counseling, and supporting clients throughout their recovery process. This role requires licensure in Maryland and previous experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine substance use history, mental health status, and treatment needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions via telehealth platforms.
- Educate clients on substance use disorders, coping mechanisms, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, case managers, and family members to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in addiction counseling.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or hold an equivalent certification.
- Must be licensed in Maryland to provide substance use counseling.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience working in substance use counseling or a related field.
- Experience providing tele-health counseling is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of addiction recovery models, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and tele-health platforms.
