Description
The CAD Designer is responsible for overseeing the architectural and structural design aspects of the residential building process. This position strives for zero-defect construction documents.

Responsibilities :
Interprets and prepares clear, concise and accurate working plans with detail drawings from work orders & architectural renderingsImplements applicable building codesOversees permit-start packages (blueprints, plot plans, truss, etc.)Maintains, revises & updates existing plans to reflect feature and specification changes, with an emphasis on value engineering and office-related cost variance reductionRecommends new plan enhancements to department head, estimator, etc.Completes drawings from Design Development Stage to Final Working DrawingsSpecifies materials, trims, fixtures, and construction assembliesPrepares and maintains floor plans for marketing and sales brochuresProvides complete sets of residential construction drawings for permitting in a timely mannerEnsures drawings are fully coordinated with structural calculations and that drawings are sealed and signed by designated engineerCoordinates with other departments on project specifications and product features to assure accurate representationReviews & approves shop drawings for individual structures including Roof Truss, Surveys / Site plans, Product Approvals, HVAC Layouts and Energy CalculationsFacilitates field repairs and construction modifications by generating details and coordinating between superintendents, sub-contractors and engineersMaintains an open line of communication with city Plan Reviewers and InspectorsCompletes, logs, and tracks all Lot Specific Permit PrepsMaintains professionalism at all timesMaintains clean and orderly work environmentPerforms all duties in adherence to Company standardsStrives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practicesMaintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workersPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAdditional specialized technical courses or equivalent preferred5 years of experience and solid background in producing complete construction documents using AutoCAD release 2016 or newer requiredSkills and Knowledge :
Must be able to read, write and understand English with strong written and verbal business communication and presentation skillsComputer skills, including Microsoft Office requiredWorking knowledge of building systems and construction methods, engineering practices, mathematics, and other physical sciences requiredWorking knowledge of applicable residential and building codes requiredKnowledge and experience with Revit Architecture preferredHighly organized and efficient, with the ability to multi-taskPersonal Attributes :
