Job Summary/Overview
The Parkway Maintenance/SLM Comand Operations is a visible position and must maintain professionalism throughout the Colen Built Development Properties working in On Top of the World Communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following statements describe the principal functions of this position and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. - Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with residents, contractors, visitors and co-workers.
- Listens to customer complaints and engages in conversation to a find a mutually agreeable answer.
- Maintains all equipment in proper working order, including daily preventive maintenance checks, cleaning and refueling
- Obtains BMP certification within 1 month of hire and ensures it is current and maintained
- Obtains FCLMT within 1 year of hire
- Applies chemicals and/or fertilizer and calibrates equipment
- Performs loading, unloading and inventory procedures daily
- Identifies grass and plant disease and stress indicators and chooses proper chemicals to use, including herbicide, insecticide, fungicides or fertilizer
- Stays current with new products, their rates, and when and where to use or not use
- Maintains safe work habits and practices and exhibits proper use of Personal Protective Equipment by staying focused and engaged
- Maintains a safe environment and ensures proper safety procedures are carried out
- Maintains a high level of community mindedness
- Becomes familiar with neighborhoods, street names and routes
- Accomplishes assigned tasks in a teamwork based environment under various conditions and meets production targets
- Performs all duties in adherence to Company standards
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
- Performs other duties as assigned whether verbally or in writing.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous grounds and equipment experience preferred
- BMP Required
Skills and Knowledge:
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
- Must have a general knowledge of irrigation controller operation and components of an irrigation system
- Ability to read and understand chemical labels and restrictions during applications
