What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outpatient Clinic Nurse or CMA position at On With Life?
We are seeking a Part Time Clinic RN or CMA for our Outpatient program. This part-time position primarily works weekdays up to 20 hours per week. Arrive on Friday’s by ~11am to get things ready for clinic that usually starts around 12:00. Clinic is until 4:30p/5p, but will eventually run as late as 6p. Potential for an additional day once a month for procedures, possibly full-time hours eventually available.
In partnership with other members of the outpatient rehabilitation team, the Clinic Nurse or CMA provides professional services for persons with brain injury or other neurological conditions, including:
- Assisting nurse practitioner for medical clinic at neurological outpatient clinic
- Responsible for rooming patients, vitals, lab draws, correspondence, authorizations, etc.
- Would require some intermittent work throughout the week with checking on labs, follow up with patients, authorizations, etc.
- Puts others first - those we serve are at the core of what we do; their goals and values guide all decisions

- Honors the uniqueness of each individual, knowing their injury does not define their potential
- Is comfortable working with computers and electronic records
- Is an excellent educator and passionate about providing encouragement
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or CMA in the State of Iowa
- Ability to maintain CPR certification (if you do not have this already, we will pay for it)
- Prior experience with brain injury or neurological conditions preferred
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification preferred
