Job Summary
Onbikes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced and driven Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts. This role will focus on securing grants, cultivating donor relationships, and developing strategic partnerships and sponsorships for our signature events. The Development Director will oversee key campaigns, expand our donor base, and leverage digital platforms to enhance engagement and fundraising success. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, implementing innovative fundraising strategies, and fostering meaningful connections to support Onbikes' mission.
Key Responsibilities Fundraising Campaigns
- Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: Lead the development and execution of peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, empowering supporters to create personal fundraising pages, recruit their networks, and raise critical funds for Onbikes. Provide resources to effectively promote campaigns through social media, email, and other digital platforms.
Major Giving & Donor Cultivation
- Identify and develop relationships with family foundations and major donors.
- Craft personalized proposals and presentations for foundations, demonstrating the impactful results of their support.
Grants Management
- Research, apply for, and manage grants to support Onbikes’ mission.
- Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and clarity, and maintain detailed records of applications and outcomes.
Donor Stewardship & Partnerships
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current donors and potential supporters to foster continued engagement and financial support.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new donors while nurturing and recognizing the contributions of existing ones.
- Identify and secure corporate sponsorships for Onbikes’ signature events, including the Winter Wonder Ride, Santa’s Bike Shop and Gasparilla kids/Adults.
Data Management & CRM Oversight
- Oversee the management and utilization of donor development software/CRM to ensure accurate tracking of donor data and fundraising performance.
- Develop and provide monthly progress reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors that track the progress of fundraising efforts against budgetary goals.
Event Fundraising & Representation
- Represent Onbikes at community events, donor meetings, and sponsorship negotiations. Build and maintain a network of partners to support fundraising efforts and ensure strong event presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Preferred of 5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or related roles, with proven success in driving measurable fundraising growth.
- Expertise in executing successful peer to peer fundraising and digital fundraising campaigns.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience writing effective pitches, delivering presentations, and negotiating successful sponsorship and donor agreements.
- Ability to travel periodically for donor meetings, fundraising events, and networking opportunities.
- Knowledge of corporate sponsorships, donor cultivation, and event fundraising best practices.
