Key Responsibilities:
Perform arc gouging to remove defective welds and prepare surfaces for re-welding.
Execute stick welding (SMAW) repairs to bring welds back to specification.
Inspect and identify welding defects, cracks, or non-conformities requiring repair.
Interpret welding repair instructions, blueprints, and welding codes.
Coordinate with inspectors, supervisors, and quality control personnel for repair approvals.
Maintain and care for welding tools, leads, and related equipment.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Document repairs and maintain accurate work records as required.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience as a repair welder in an industrial, fabrication, or pipeline environment.
Proficiency with arc gouging and SMAW in various positions and on heavy steel components.
Ability to pass weld tests per company and project requirements.
Familiarity with reading blueprints, welding symbols, and repair procedures.
Must be able to use hand and power tools effectively.
High school diploma or GED preferred; welding certifications are a plus.
