What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Volunteer position at OnCare Home Health & Hospice?
OnCare Health is Searching for Volunteers!
Our Volunteers Will:
- Deliver supplies and groceries.
- Write letters or cards, prepare mailings, notarize documents, and organize office supplies.
- Assist residents with letter writing or tackling technology (emails/Facebook).
- Make phone calls to patients, family, and friends.
- Sing and play music, sew blankets, and make other memory or history documents.
- Visit patients in person and spend quality time talking and getting to know them.
- Help with fundraising and marketing activities.
- Play cards or board games, read residents mail, or enjoy a book or magazine together.
- Assist in pushing wheelchairs or simply enjoy residents' company on walks or outings.
- Call Bingo games.
- Lead religious bible studies or church services.
- Host social gatherings (tea, coffee or happy hours or share about trips/vacations).
Our Volunteers Must:
- Be 16 years old for administrative work.
- Be 18 years old to visit patients (unless volunteering with a parent/guardian).
- The ability to pass a background check prior to being assigned duties.
- All tasks are assigned based on the comfort of the Volunteer.
