We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Associate to join our team at Once Upon A Child.
As a Retail Associate, you play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting the resale of pre-loved items. Your passion for sustainability, fashion, and community engagement will contribute to our mission of promoting eco-conscious shopping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs. Provide information on store policies, pricing, and promotions both in person and over the phone. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Sales and Cashiering: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately. Process transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures. Suggest additional items or promotions to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Merchandising and Inventory: Organize and replenish merchandise on sales floors and displays. Sort, tag, and price incoming inventory according to store guidelines. Assist in creating visually appealing displays that highlight key items or seasonal trends.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and safe for customers and staff. Assist with daily opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to achieve sales goals and ensure a positive work environment. Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on products and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 40 pounds.
- Must be organized, have strong attention to detail, and be able to multitask.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a background check.
