Mission of the role:
The Data Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the management and integrity of data generated from a molecular diagnostic laboratory. This role will establish data collection, structure, and storage protocols to ensure compliance, accuracy, and accessibility while supporting quality control-focused analysis.
Your day-to-day:
- Design and implement robust data collection, structuring, and storage methodologies for laboratory-generated data.
- Oversee and ensure the quality and consistency of data generated in the molecular diagnostic laboratory.
- Develop and maintain data management systems and tools tailored to laboratory needs.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to define data storage requirements and streamline workflows.
- Perform routine quality control checks and ensure data is suitable for downstream use.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.an
- Prepare reports summarizing data integrity and quality control metrics.
- Train team members on data management systems and best practices.
- Interface with bioinformatics, IT, and laboratory teams to ensure smooth integration of data workflows.

What it takes to do this job:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing laboratory or clinical data.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in data management software and tools.
- Knowledge of database systems, scripting languages (e.g., Python, R), and data visualization tools.
- Understanding of laboratory workflows and quality control processes.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Physical Demands:
