Job Description
Employee performs construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines and structures using Oncor construction standards manuals. Work is performed under the direction of others and with the approval of the supervisor in charge. Work is done on conductors and equipment energized at distribution voltages using approved protective equipment. Employee will be required to work off wood poles, insulated platforms, and bucket trucks using approved safety practices and rules. Employee expected to perform other duties as directed. Employee must be able to lift 75 pounds above his/her head on a regular basis. The employee must be able to achieve the necessary skill levels to successfully advance in the Oncor Lineman Training Program within a reasonable time frame commensurate with proven work experience and abilities.

Job Attributes And Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required and 4 plus years related distribution utility construction work experience.
- Class A CDL driver's license is required
- A certificate or degree from an accredited lineman school is encouraged to apply.
- Associate's degree in electrical technology or related field is encouraged to apply.
- Basic computer skills and software such as, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Outlook a plus.
- Able to provide proof of successful lineman and safety training programs
- Must be able to climb wood poles.
- Employee will be required to be on-call in the scheduled rotation, be available for overtime work and 24-hour call-out and be willing to travel outside the district when needed.
- Employee is expected to comply with the Code of Conduct at all times and shall participate in the local safety programs.
- It is necessary for the incoming employee to be committed to the Oncor Core Values.
- Good communication skills are essential to perform in a team environment.
- The successful candidate will be expected to live within 60 minutes of the service center with 30 minutes or less preferred.
- A commitment to learn and abide by the Oncor Safety Handbook is required.
- A post-hire assessment of skills will be utilized to determine initial classification
