Position Summary
This role is responsible for leading Oncor’s Data team, which includes responsibility for overseeing the organization’s data strategy, including data movement, data governance, data security and protection, data quality, data availability, DBAs, and the associated 24/7 operations, planning and execution of the data lifecycle at Oncor. Ensures technology, process, staffing and skills are maintained to ensure reliable and timely processing of data through systems, to the market and third-party partners when and where required. This position will lead the work responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization and leverages data as a strategic asset to achieve Oncor’s goals. Oversees the end-to-end management and optimization of data processes and focuses on ensuring that data is efficiently and effectively collected, processed, stored, secured and made available for analysis and decision-making. Responsible for annual budgeting and long-term roadmap planning for data growth, technology currency and meeting strategic goals.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring Data handling, storage and disposal activities are in compliance with SOX and CIP requirements.
- Works across multiple groups within and outside Technology to plan, prioritize and implement strategic Capex investments and improvements to meet Oncor’s operational goals.
- Responsible for the movement of Oncor's data into a centralized system, ensuring that data is available, accurate and ready for analysis and reporting.
- Manages the data integration process, responsible to select and lead the execution of the different methods (i.e., Extract Transform Load, Data Virtualization).
- Manages database availability and replication technologies including data restoration. Should be conversant in technologies that include synchronous and asynchronous replication.
- Develops guidelines for data archival and long-term storage in compliance with corporate retention and applicable regulations.
- Designs and implements data governance policies related to data access, storage, security, and compliance including corporate policies and department standards.
- Designs and implements data quality procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Directs the implementation of strategies and measures to safeguard data from unauthorized access, breaches, and all data security threats, considering key components, including (not limited to): access control, encryption, data integrity, data backup and recovery.
- Oversees the corporate Data Loss Protection program.
- Directs improvements related to data quality, data classification, data linage and metadata repository use.
- Designs and leads the implementation of practices, processes, and technologies to be used to manage and optimize the end-to-end lifecycle of data within Oncor.
- Defines and directs actions needed to improve data availability including speed, quality, reliability of Oncor data
- Manages and maintains Oncor's databases, ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of the organization’s databases.
- Works with other technology groups to ensure timely updates, patches, and upgrades are maintained on systems and software to ensure operations.
- Responsible for understanding software, database, replication technology license costs, and working with Commercial Governance on renewals and targets.
- Develops and reports metrics tailored for the Oncor Technology’s goals, reviewed quarterly to adjust for improved performance.
- Develops and reports on monthly financial progress, metrics and overall program and project progress.
- Demonstrates adaptability, and an innovation mindset, focused on developing employees and optimizing results.
- Develops and attracts Technology talent.
- Works with other leaders to avoid duplication of functions, or siloed processes and find interdependencies.

- Eight years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, and risk management with a proven record of success in leading data governance programs in complex organizations is encouraged to apply
