Summary
Ondrick Materials & Recycling, LLC specializes in Commercial and Municipal asphalt paving. The Paving Superintendent will oversee execution of paving projects from inception to completion. Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
· Proven experience as a superintendent and leader in the paving industry.
· Strong knowledge of paving processes, materials, and machinery involved in the construction of highways, roads, and parking lots.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
· Knowledge and understanding of construction layout, survey, and ability to troubleshoot.
· Experience with commercial, municipal, and State DOT work requirements and specifications.
· Commitment to maintaining a safe and quality work environment.
· Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and B2W product suite.
· Must be able to work variable hours including daytime, night time, weekends, and overtime when required.
· Ability to multi-task and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of paving projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adherence to project specifications and schedules.
· Manage daily operations on concurrent job sites to maintain workflow, efficiency, and productivity.
· Lead, mentor, and work alongside teams of paving crew members, ensuring they are adequately trained and adhere to safety protocols.
· Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met and resolve any issues that arise.
· Monitor project budgets and resources, providing updates and reports to senior management as needed.
· Daily oversight of asphalt paving projects to assess production, yield, quality of work, and compliance with safety standards and contract requirements.
· Maintain time and materials records to complete daily job cost reporting and payroll review.
Environment:
- Varying weather conditions including extreme hot and cold environments, rain
- Exposure to atmospheric conditions such as dust, dirt, fumes, stone and minerals
- May be exposed to slippery, sloped, uneven surfaces, as well as working in confined areas
- Exposure to load noise and vibration and moving equipment
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to stoop, bend, balance, kneel, reach, sit and walk on rough terrain
· Must have the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
· Must have good hearing and vision
· May be required to perform strenuous work in unfavorable conditions
· Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies
· Must be able to pick up 100lbs. and consistently pick up 50lbs.
Educational Requirements:
· Construction management or Engineering degree or 7 ( ) Years’ experience as a paving superintendent
· Ability to read and understand blueprints and grades
· Must possess basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record/Commercial driver’s license a plus
· OSHA 30; First aid/CPR certified
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
· Willingness and ability to travel, work overtime and Saturdays as needed
