Overview
The One Brooklyn Health Chair of Emergency Medicine will provide strategic leadership, direction, and coordination for the clinical and teaching components of the Departments of Emergency Medicine while working collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership to meet and exceed hospital clinical and business goals.
The Chair will maintain the highest quality of medical care for the Department while growing volume. Furthermore, the Chair will provide leadership, ensuring a high level of cooperation, communication among the staff, and will be responsible for promoting and maintaining excellence and integrity in quality and patient care by monitoring volume, clinical quality, operations improvements, residency programs, and financial performance of the Department. They will also work towards improving the health care of the community.
The Chair will be accountable for overall planning, directing, and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures for the Department of Emergency Medicine, ensuring the integration of scientifically based, outcome evaluated clinical knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
Education:
- M.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited institution required.
Licenses, Certifications:
- Active Board Certification in Emergency Medicine. Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted licensure in New York required.
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of clinical leadership and three (3) years of teaching/academic experience.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
