Overview
Manage and monitor the Safety program, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and other authorities having jurisdiction. Assess compliance by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and work with the Director of Safety to implement safeguards and solutions. Assist the Director of Safety by managing aspects of the Fire prevention, Emergency Management, Hazardous Waste management and/or other safety related activities as appropriate.

Responsibilities
- Assist Director of EM in the development and implementation of surge capacity plans with local health and emergency agencies.
- Participates in completion of HRSA Deliverables as required.
- Participate in meetings as needed.
- Conduct Environment of Care rounds and collect data to ensure compliance.
- Develops and implements training classes and drills in preparation for required drills.
- Ensures planning, implementation and evaluation of system-wide
- Coordinates techniques and protocols for emergency response and

- Prepares reports and maintains all documentation as required by the organization, quality management, etc;
- Monitors department activities and reviews policies and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in- depth evaluation of variable factors.

- Participates in system-wide EM initiatives as appropriate.
- Assist with management of fire alarm systems as needed.
- Conduct Fire Drills as needed.
- Conduct training as needed.
- Inspect fire extinguishers and hoses as needed.
- Perform all other duties as required to ensure compliance.
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree is preferred.
- 1-3 years related experience, job experience can be used in lieu of degree.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of personal and general public in a professional manner
- Ability to handle both common and crisis situations calm and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations
- ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800, S95 (to be obtained upon employment).
- Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet).
- Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.
- Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties.
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
- Run as needed.
- Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks.
- Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination.
- Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat.
- Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments.
