What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician, Pulmonary Function Lab position at One Brooklyn Health?
Overview
This position is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the full scope of activities of both the Pulmonary Function and Blood Gas Laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Performs all Blood Gas and Pulmonary Function Testing
- Participates in weekly meetings with the Director of Respiratory Therapy,
- Participates in employee continuing education activities ,
- Performs arterial and / or venous blood gas analysis
- Performs pulmonary function studies and perform routine studies when necessary,
- When necessary, re-calibrates and records calibrations for all equipment used for analysis
- Performs other duties as required by the Director of Respiratory Therapy.
- Responsible for all equipment maintenance
- Reports all lab results in Epic
- Follows department procedures for the recording of PFTs performed
- Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment used in testing and other procedures
Qualifications
Education :
certificate in chemistry.
