ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Field Organizer you are responsible for recruiting, developing, and mobilizing ONE volunteer advocates in a defined target area of the U.S. in partnership with a Regional Organizing Manager. You will build a robust advocacy presence toward targeted decision makers for ONE's issues, and you will raise awareness of ONE's issues and initiatives through creative local programming and through implementation of advocacy campaigns.
This is a full-time, contract position based remotely in Southeast Florida, including cities near Port St. Lucie, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
- Work with a Regional Organizing Manager to set, measure, and achieve goals to (1) build local volunteer leadership and high-impact membership capacity and (2) mobilize high-impact advocacy actions to move ONE's policy priorities with targeted decision makers.
- Strategically recruit and engage with ONE's key constituencies, including community leaders, college students, faith communities, veterans, and the African diaspora.
- Develop relationships with community partners and coalitions to mobilize aligned advocacy activity.
- Work with a Regional Organizing Manager to plan and execute strategic organizing trips and events, while demonstrating sound financial consideration for use of ONE's resources and ensuring productive outcomes.
- Maintain volunteer database with key data from the region and ensure timely submission of action data from local activities.
- Lead regular training related to ONE's issues and advocacy skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Proficiency in English required, Spanish language proficiency a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This position is a remote, work from home position. Applicants must have high speed internet access and designated work area. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds and ability to stand for long periods of time when working in the field, sometimes outdoors.
