Assistant Clinical Director  

 

Description

The Assistant Clinical Director works under the supervision of the Clinical Director.  Responsible for overseeing the Clinical Department within One Care DC, Inc.  Provide supervision and training to clinical staff, interns,  therapists and Community Support Specialists (CSS). This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the agency and its overall success. Must have the ability to think globally, promptly solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills. The Assistant Clinical Director is ultimately responsible for clinical documentation, compliance, managing crisis interventions, ensuring adherence to agency policy, staff training and supervision, staff development and fostering a team environment. 

 

Responsibilities 


  • Lead the clinical department, oversee program effectiveness and provide guidance to clinical staff and ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and other clinical staff to solve problems and present viable solutions during and after business hours, when required. 
  • Accountable for overseeing the performance of duties and responsibilities by Clinical Managers, Community Support Specialists, and other staff within the clinical department.
  • Enforce procedures to manage and ensure timely submission of  progress notes, Diagnostic Assessments, Treatment Plans and make certain that it is in compliance with regulations and One Care DC standards.
  • Oversee the assignment of Community Support Specialists to clinical teams and consumers, ensuring weekly supervision sessions are conducted and supervision documentation is submitted promptly.
  • Complete, review, update and approve Diagnostic Assessments and Treatment Plans
  • Oversee insurance expirations and execute the recertification process.
  • Review the Red Xs and collaborate with Clinical Managers to ensure they are addressed and resolved effectively.
  • Respond to Care Point requests and coordinate hospital clinical staff for continuity of care,
  • Collaborate with  Clinical Managers and Psychiatric Team to  ensure that all consumers have a Psychiatric Evaluation
  • Coordinate with the clinical staff to ensure that triage, PHQ-9, Nutrition, Pain, Suicide screenings are completed for all consumers.
  • Create, identify and implement processes and procedures for consumer discharges.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including regularly scheduled meetings, clinical audits, peer reviews and consumer satisfaction reports.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Managers to identify and implement rotating  weekly schedules for On-Call for emergencies.  
  • Provides emergency evaluations of consumers in crisis and crisis interventions, facilitates referral to more intensive levels of care if needed.
  • Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of clinical staff as requested.
  • Ensure that all clinical staff are trained to complete the DLA-20 and execute FD-12 processes. 
  • Lead monthly staff meetings with QI, HR, and Operations to provide updates and acknowledgement to clinical staff.
  • Conduct quarterly in-service trainings and clinical staff address, to be held bi-weekly.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures in accordance with policies, accreditation requirements and professional standards.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports.
  • Maintain a positive attitude of cooperation, be reliable and consistent, communicate effectively, build staff morale and be punctual.
  • Represent OneCare DC in the community, corporate and donor environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience 


  • Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Social Science, Healthcare or related field 
  • Required: License: DC LICSW, APRN
  • Required Experience: 2-5 of supervisory experience in behavioral health or healthcare and 3 years of direct care experience in behavioral health
